Vasak Darbinyan was born on July 18, 1959 in Shamshadin.

He graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Yerevan State University.

1982-1985 worked as a journalist in the Yerevan University weekly,

1985-1994 - Deputy Director of the Bureau of Propaganda of Fiction of the Union of Writers of Armenia,

1990-1993. worked in the weekly newspaper "Ike" as responsible for the information department, then as deputy editor-in-chief and acting,

1994-1995. he was in the weekly "02", 1996. 2008-2009. - editor-in-chief of the weekly "Gazeta".,

1996-1998. In 1998-1999 he worked as the editor of the daily newspaper "Aravot". 1999-2000 - Editor of the Aylur Public Television program. Author and editor of the "Press of the day" program of Armenia TV,

2000-2002 - author and editor of the A1+ Press program of A1+ TV company, 2001-2010. 2002-2003. - electronic newspaper "Yearbook", weekly, daily newspaper, founder and editor-in-chief. 2004. - daily newspaper "Ayb-Fe", editor-in-chief. 2007-2009. - editor of the Armenian version of the magazine "Afisha" ("entertainment").,

2006-2008. In 2011-2012, he was the editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper "Ike". 2011-2014 - Editor of the daily newspaper "Zhamanak". 2007 - 2007 - Editor-in-chief of the Forbidden Zone magazine.,

The year is 2021. On October 15, by the decision of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia N1165-a, he was appointed a member of the Board of the Public Broadcaster.

On June 2, 2025, by the decision of the Council of the Public Broadcaster, he was elected Chairman of the Council of the Public Broadcaster.
